One.Tel knocking on doors - be warned
message from Simon Ough on 27 Jun 2005
Had a One.Tel rep knocking on my door this afternoon bleating on about how
great they are etc etc etc.

Told them I am now back on BT after a nasty experience with them, and they
asked why. I told them, even to the point that I still get bills for £0.00
and threats that if I don't pay £0.00 in 14 days I will be taken to court,
the fact that although my numbers are blocked, if someone in a year or so's
time takes my number over that they could run up a large bill in my name as
the account is still live etc etc etc.

I also mentioned that I got fed up with the Indian Call Centres (who ****ed
my account up in the first place, resulting in me cancelling)

I was greeted by, "We've gotten so much better, blah blah blah, and not only
that, but we've gotten rid of our Indian Call Centre!"

Me: "Really?"

One.Tel: "Yes, they've gone"

Prompts me to phone One.Tel customer care on loudspeaker in the blink of an
eye, only to be answered by Sanjay (real name) in what seemed to sound like
an Indian Call Centre. Just after the chap mentioned his name, the One.Tel
rep started to walk away.

After the mess-up I had, don't trust them, especially ANY ONE.TEL REP who
knocks on your door.

Unless you want to be lied to, of course.

we had them knocking on our door last month with the opening question of
"would you like free landline calls" - told them i already had them
because i use OneTel at weekends and call18866 at all other times
(unless i'm ringing an 0870 where i just ring those on onetel anyway so
that they can't complain about me freeloading their calls at weekends!)
cut a long story short, the rep said he'd never heard of call18866!

i did the sales pitch for call18866 and he agreed "oh yes, it is a
pretty good deal that isn't it and walked off! lol

saw him get invited in to quite a few of my neighbours houses though.
