| BT Studio 500 problem |

I've just got a BT Studio 500 DECT phone/answerphone.
The handset and base station won't talk to each other. The handset shows
the flashing "trying to connect to base station" icon, but never manages
the task.
There is no real help in the manual's troublseshooting section.
Do i just assume the unit is faulty, or is there something else I should
try?

Is the phone brand new or used? A new handset should be
pre-registered to its base. Try paging, then the
registration procedure.
