BT Home Highway problem
message from Neil Cooper on 19 Aug 2003
First of all please excuse me if I am posting to the wrong groups.

My problem is I can connect to BT Openworld via Home Highway at 64Kbps and
my home page (BBC News) shows OK, but when I connect at 128Kbps I get " page
not available- cannot find server". I have tried talking to BTOpenworld Tech
Support but with no success. I have also checked with BT ISDN TEch Support
and my HH lines are working OK.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks Neil

How are you trying to connect? Are you using Anytime number? You cannot
get 128k on the anytime number.

Thanks for the reply, no I am not using the Anytime number, but the PAYG
number.

Hi Neil,

Beck has given you the correct dial up number for you to use (Thanks Beck).
However, I just wanted to let you know that you will be charged @ 2x's the
local call rate for the dual bonding of the device.

Originally you were using a single channel connected at 64k, this on our
server via your Anytime account is fine. You are connecting to a 56k modem
bank and as such we are able to process the connection and perform data
transmission to/from your computer.

However, when you try and connect your ISDN service at 128k on either
Anytime or the Pay as you Go number your connection will be processed but,
we will be unable to perform data transmission to/from your computer due to
the CAP on the 56k modem banks that we use. this is why you contsantly get
the "Error 404 this page cannot be displayed etc." message.

The number that Beck gave you is for our dedicated 128k ISDN dial up
platform and as such can cope with the connection that you are using.
