It's a special type of text message, the part that does what Orange want
is read by the phone and the SIM CSP fields (that's Customer SIM or
Service Profile) is updated. The SIM Update part is there so you know it
has arrived and this encourages you to delete it and then reboot the
phone so that the change is read back in and obeyed.
In some cases Orange send an update that resets the preferred roaming
partners back to their liking, forcing those of us that edit it
ourselves to change in back to our liking.
Why? Bored computers toying with the customers for a little relief perhaps?

As long as its nothing to worry about, thats the main thing!!
...although I've now received an unsolicited "ringtone" message... but
thats one for anther thread.
Cheers!

Because Orange have updated your SIM card..! Usually it's international
roaming preferences, if you haven't specifically requested a new service.
Read it, delete it and switch the phone off and back on again in that
order.
