Nokia 1100 feature - On any other phone?
message from J-A-K-E on 25 Jun 2005
Hi,

The Nokia 1100 has a great feature that locks the phone from making any
calls
whilst it is able to receive calls.

4 shops this morning told me that I was lying and no such feature existed,
until I
managed to get one to show me the phone and I showed them it in use.

It is called "Keyguard lock with security code"

Anyone know of any other phones that do this???????????????

Thanks

The SPV C500 has a device lock, which requires a PIN.

My (very) old Motorola mr601 had this feature too. Don't Motorolas
still do this?

Don't know whether they (Motorolas) still do this, but I had an mr601
once, and it had the really useful feature that accidental pressing
of "999" or "112" wouldn't accidentally dial the emergency services
with the key lock on.

... and the Motorola we had, locked all the keys except the on/off button.
Most useful!

I think pretty much every smartphone can do this.
All Treos from 180,270.300.600 and 650 can do it.

Software even exists for you to disable the phone remotely using a special
SMS!

I suppose the Nokia 6250 also does that - mine locks the keypad with a
PIN when you do menu-asterisk, but you can still receive calls.
