| FS: Two Cingular US SIM's |
| message from USATm on 24 Jun 2005 |
Just returned from the States, where I purchased two Cingular Sim cards,
to use in our tri-band phones.
Extremely useful, able to call each other at absolutely no cost, where
are you ? etc
(Mobile to Mobile rate)
(which states $1 per day used, no charge on days phones not used, but we
were never charged this, probably only relates to phoning non-Cingular
numbers. Texts to UK were not charged $1 day rate either)
Text to UK approx 12p (20c), voice calls to UK approx 25p / min (39c)
US to US calls few cents each, other mobiles 10c, other Cingular
mobiles...FREE !!! (Worldwide it states)
Each has approx $12 call time available, valid for another 5 months,
unless topped up, when expiry date extends, using vouchers in USA.
Top ups $15-$100. Radio Shack, Walgreens(everywhere), Cingular shop(
everywhere too) or phone CS
So if you are off to the States summer holidays, these are ideal for
you.
Extensive National coverage, especially Florida, but also California.
These SIM's will not work in UK.
Cost to you, for both SIM cards, £40 inc remaining airtime.
(If you only phone each other, it won't cost you anything !!)

Mine charges 5c a text message back the UK or internally US
The 39c charge is wrong, but correct. If you read the small print it
says it is 39c a minute, then in the terms section it says 'Plus network
charges' ie plus 10c a minute.
Still cheap though!
Again, I made several none Cingular (cell phone) calls and wasn't
charged for them.
Seems to be pot luck what they charge, as long as it isn't over the
price they quote then fine, anything less and it's a bonus.
You can connect to their web site and top up using a credit card. Very
useful if you are in Europe.
Bob.
