Share internet connection between XP and Linux
message from Biffo on 26 Jun 2003
Hi,
I have ICS set up on WinXP and I want to access the internet connection from
Linux. Is this possible and how do I do it?

If it helps I will be using the Mandrake 9.1.

Thanks

This should be easy, with ICS setup on the XP machine, you should be able
to config the network settings on the linux box, to something similiar to
this
ip address: 192.168.0.x (x anywhere from 2 to 254)
subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
gateway: 192.168.0.1
dns: 192.168.0.1 (or you can set other dns servers if you
like)

Hope that helps

Andrew
