More on my packet loss problem...
message from peter on 9 Nov 2002
Thanks to everyone who replied to my earlier note. My packet loss problem
isn't getting any better, though Openworld say there's nothing wrong.
Below is a trace from VisualRoute showing the percent packet loss in the
second column. I know very little about TCP/IP networks, but the figure of
70% for hop 10 doesn't look right to me. There's also a trace to Demon,
which I would have thought would be as clean as you can get. Can someone
with a decent connection try the same for me and see how it looks please.
I'd really appreciate it if some of you experts could take a look and see
what you think, and maybe tell me in which direction I should be pointing
the service desk people in order to get this resolved - or is this just the
way it is with Openworld's network?
Thanks a lot, peter

Analysis: 'www.cisco.com' was found in 24 hops (TTL=234). It is a HTTP
server (running CCO/1.0 (Unix)).
