Cancelling BTBroadband Home 500 service, other user's experiences?!
message from tHatDudeUK on 21 Jul 2003
I have sent an e-mail to homecancel@btopenworld.com which gave an automated
I was last billed on the 14th July and wanted to know if I cancelled when my
ADSL service could be terminated to move to another. I was wondering if
13th/14th July would be possible....

I have used the service for more than 12 months.

Maybe human's can be at the end of an e-mail question sometime.

Thanks in advance for any help..

If you pay by Credit Card then if they don`t allow you to cancell, Why not
just cancell your CC or Debit card then they can not take money out of your
account and thus the account is suspeneded.

I'd do that but the only problem is that I need a specific cancellation
date....

Usually (read your contract) if you've been a subscriber for over 12 months,
you can cancel the service with 30 days notice.

Cheers, this following paragraph in the contract I never read seems to say
similar :-)

20. After the service has been activated

20.1 This contract can be ended by:

(a) either of us giving 28 days notice to the other; or

(b) you giving us seven days notice if under paragraph 21 we inform you we
are increasing our charges or changing the conditions of this contract to
your detriment.

20.2 If you give us notice that ends, or we end this contract under
paragraph 15, during the first 12 months from the date that the service is
activated and available for you to use (other than because we have increased
our charges or changed the conditions of this contract to your detriment)
you must pay all charges payable for any remaining period of that 12 months.

20.3 If you have paid any charges for a period after the end of this
contract beyond the 12 months referred to in paragraph 20.2, we will either
repay these charges or put them towards any money you owe us.
