Thermostatic rad valve or some other method of controlling the room temp, e.g. thermostat, is required now in every room, new build or refurb. You don't really have to do this. Fitters like to have TRVs in every room because it makes it easier for them ... (more) |

My Father In Law is a glass engraver, and is often asked if it is possible to remove scratches, or change/erase the engraving on glass. The usual answer is that while not 100% effective, you can significantly diminish most scratches with a rubber wheel on the end of a dremmel type ... (more) |

TBH, there is little point calculating the boiler requirement nowadays. Almost all modern domestic system boilers are modulating (variable) types of around 24kW. These will do a fairly large and poorly insulated house. Even if the requirement exceeded 24kW, you would still fit the 24kW boiler, but ... (more) |
