I like the false-wall idea, but if pipes are included don't forget to
space them as far away from the cables as possible if they are hot, or
else you're going to have to do some derating calculations on the

Interesting. I have successfully and easily used finish plaster,
tile grout, decorater's filler (also same with a bit of PVA in
it, also same with a little sand). I think it must depend on

Use low modulus neutral cure silicone sealant, no other. Chock
the unit all around with soft plastic spacers (get silicone and
spacers at your local glazier). If it doesn't say "Low Modulus

Um. Presumably you're referring to machines with axial fans,
not centrifugal? I shouldn't think that just reversing the
fan on an axial fan would be very efficient (not absolutely

I've just re-wired the upstairs lighting in a 1950s. house
where the cable for up/downstairs light/ring were all run
down through the cavity and back in at the CU.... I don't

According to the SDA boiler database program that has a max power of
just over 23kW. Not sure if that is its input or output power however.
Since its efficency is low at 70% that could mean the actual power going
into heating the water could be as low as 16kW. ... (more)

High pressure = mains as opposed to a c.w. cistern in the loft. It's
99.9% certain that your combi is mains fed so the h.w. is classed as
high pressure. You'll need a mains cold feed too. ... (more)

It is also a good idea to fit a mains isolating switch if you have the
space. This will save having to remove the board's fuse in the future if

embossed on a stripe on the side. That said I had no luck getting those

Axminster have an item in their latest brochure which altho' it say s is
for mortar and grout and may also be too big for what you are wanting to
do ,might be worth a look .

I'm not sure about these. I have a Bosch GAS50 which is a bigger
machine than those you are looking at. They have the smaller GAS25

An easier way is the reverse! Bung up the pipes and see which one STOPS
the water flow out of the hot tap. Get a pair of Drayton bungs - they
