Tamperproofness is achieved by eliminating most plasticiser from the label, causing it to snap, rather than bend when you try to remove it. If you can heat it to around 100C, it bends very well, and can be peeled off whole. ... (more) |

I installed the very same last week with a 28kW combi. It works as well as can be expected. The shower is better than our old electric shower (9.5kW) and the thermostatic feature of the Grohtherm 3000 works fine, ie if someone turns a tap on the shower flow reduces but so does the ... (more) |

Modern consumer units do not need them. If the meter/cut out is not on that board, just mount it directly to the wall with screws/rawlplugs. If the meter is on it, then you shouldn't be touching it, as it is the electricity company's board. ... (more) |

Probably because you don't get flues (or soil pipes) that small, or domestic water pipes that big! Most people would get away with a 110mm (for soil pipes and concentric flues), a 45mm or so for waste and 25mm for copper pipes. ... (more) |

The scary thing about PME is that there is a possible failure mode where the power is off, but everything is still live, and unearthed. This would be the case where somehow someone cuts through the supply company's neutral just before it enters your house, but not the live. ... (more) |
