Yup. You can detect extremely small amounts of leakage by that method - I've discovered quite a few metal lightswitches in this house which were not properly earthed. It does not necessarily mean there is an insulation fault, but it certainly indicates an earthing fault, and you should investigate. ... (more) |

If the plumbing is all plastic, then supplementary bonding may actually reduce electrical safety. However, if it is all metal, but with 30cm of plastic tube, then it isn't clear whether or not you should bond after the break according to the regulations.
