CHARTER: Does anyone mind if I post a small ad?

message from Mike Tomlinson on 21 May 2004
There doesn't appear to be a charter for uk.d-i-y at www.usenet.org.uk.
May I post a small ad for a DIY related item, please?

Many of us don't need to ignore IMM's posts - except when gets quoted by
others :-/

I think the group is too old for a charter....but see:

before proceeding.

Let's be honest, nobody really gives a toss what you think

It is generally accepted that personal ads are acceptable if someone has
something NG relevant for sale

Ian Stirling replied to Mike Tomlinson on 22 May 2004
Looking on google at the earliest archives of this group, they are:
21 Jan 1995 PC I/O boards (12 articles) Frithiof Jensen
15 Jan 1995 Fondle my hot shiny 8 inch cock! (5 articles) The Better
5 Dec 1994 Victorian Light Fittings (1 article) Craig Wood

So, not much change.

Elisa - who goes by the user name of IMM

geoff replied to Mike Tomlinson on 21 May 2004
A small person ad is permitted, commercial advertising is not

So, "lawnmower for sale" would be acceptable, "see our range of
lawnmowers at www.craptat.com isn't

geoff replied to geoff on 23 May 2004
Bugger, didn't think of that

I thought most dwarves and gnomes were cast anyway

It's illegal to sell dwarves?

BigWallop replied to Ian Stirling on 22 May 2004
A bloke goes in to a pub and asks the barman "Do you serve dwarves ?" The
barman ask "How do you want it, fried or boiled ?"

Ian Stirling replied to Owain on 23 May 2004
Don't be silly, where would the new ones come from in that case.

Andy Hall replied to Ian Stirling on 23 May 2004

Maxie, you are an experienced troll. I WANT NO ADVERTISING on this ng. This
that clear. That My Arse man man can go elsewhere to sell things.

Jerry. replied to IMM on 23 May 2004
needs a good kicking ?

IMM replied to IMM on 24 May 2004
Maxie, you will have to stop it. Pull yourself together. It is sad to see a
man slowly deteriorate, as you certainly are, in front of you via a computer
screen. A very sad sight ineed. Very sad.

Jerry. replied to IMM on 24 May 2004
Elisa over loaded again, someone really must sort out what is causing that
stack dump on line 19943 of the random_thoughts.dll file....
