I am getting a new computer with xp pro pre installed. I want to sell the license to the xp pro on my old computer that i am dismantling for parts. I no longer need that version. How do I do this?

If the XP Pro on your old computer is an OEM version (came bundled
with the computer or the CD says "for sale or distribution only with a
new computer....") then that license is permanently locked to the
first computer that it is installed on and cannot be legitimately
transferred to another computer under any circumstances, even if the
original computer dies, or is lost, destroyed or stolen.

On the other hand, if it is a Retail version of XP Pro (came in a blue
Microsoft box) then that license belongs to you and you are free to
transfer it to a different computer or to sell it if you no longer
need it. If you do sell it then you should give the purchaser a
letter stating that you have removed it from your own computer.

Good luck
