kennewr.exe what is it

message from Stooble on 12 Jun 2004
I have just done a new install of xp.

During the day while I was setting up various parts of this install two cmd
screens flashed up for a split second.

Some time after this, a program tried to access the internet but tried to do
so by dial up rather than cable, that threw up some dialogs that demanded
conection and which if closed kept popping up. The program was seeking
access to various sites one of which was named kenjj.(cant recall now).org.

I had a look at the process list and had 2 processes by the name kennewr.exe
running.

There were also 2 registry entries one with a description of Microsoft task
manager emulator and the other Microsoft update emulator.

I did a google search to see if I could find out more about these processes
and that came up with nothing.

Any one have any idea about what this process is about.

I would download the stinger program from MacAfee and boot in safe mode to
run it also run adaware in safe mode sounds like a virus for sure!

This is getting strange. I removed the two registry entries but not without
some difficulty only to have them come back on reboot.

Reg Edit would start then shutdown after a few seconds, I was only able to
delete the entries by getting to them before Reg Edit closed.

Now the virus program avg is acting weird and closing down after a few
seconds.

Any suggestions on this
