internet explorer is very slow |

i have been trying to get IE to work faster, it takes like 2 or 3 minutes
for a page to load.
i have got norton internet security and addaware and all is clear of bugs
also the internet temp files are deleted and all other temp files that i can
deleted are gone too.
i have checked all files on hard drive, all is ok.
when i reinstalled my pc is was like lightening, and after a fw weeks of
just a standard installation no other programmes installed, it starts to
crawl.
any ideas what else it could be that is slowing my IE down to a crawl.
