I have fixed this problem by cleaning and re-lubricating the rail that the print carriage rides on. I used a silicon lubricant but any good ligh machine oil should work. As for removing the carriage, good luck. I'm pretty sure you have to disassemble the entire printer to get it ... (more) |

You sure the icon isn't hidden? Is there a chevron icon on the leftside of the tray icon area that you can click on to see more icons? Right-click on the taskbar, Properties, and either uncheck Hide Icons or click on Customize to decide how you want tray icons handled. ... (more) |

First off - you can't use roaming profiles in a workgroup, so that's that. Secondly, even if you had a domain, profiles are different between OS versions, so you can't roam from W2k to XP Pro without getting some profile corruption eventually. ... (more) |

| I have installed xp dozens of times and have never encountered the problems that I am having recently. Either the computer encounters setup errors during the install, or it freezes and during the service pack 1 installation. In either case I have not been able to run xp properly. The last freeze was ... Setup cannot copy the file: iyuv_32.dll ... approx 86% of the way into the setup. Using another xp disk and "retrying" doesn't solve the problem, and I doubt both disks would be flawed identically. Tried both of my CD drives with no success. I have one IDE hard drive to which I am making the installation (the other drives are SATA in RAID configs, but I'm not depending upon them at this point in the installation). Have a Sony Vaio with Win XP pro. Internet Explorer will connect to Real Media, Windows Media, etc. and start playing files, but only the sound comes through, no video. Same thing happens on AOL and just about everything...even when I try to capture video with Adobe Premiere. | I have a router that I have been using for my desktop and my PS2 so I can be on one and not have to unplug the modem everytime I want to use one or the other. So a couple of days ago I bought a laptop and connected it through the wireless feature on it, and then I thought "Maybe I should play around with a network" and this came to me because I have a larger hard drive on my desktop. My original intent was to be able to connect to the desktop from the laptop. Well I did the home network setup and used the option "This computer connects to the internet through another computer or through a residential gateway" for both the laptop and the desktop. I did the wizard for both and I could view the laptops shared files on the desktop and laptop but I could not view shared files on the desktop through the Laptop. So I maped out the network drive and used Z: for the network drive and that was done on my Desktop. I clicked on the "View workgroup computers" and I can see both on my desktop but I can only see the laptop on my laptop. The desktop is connected through an ethernet adapter and my laptop is done through 802.11 wireless lan card. I have everything set up through my router (WEP, wireless enabled, encryption set at 128, and my key specified). I have an OEM copy of Windows XP Pro on a home-built computer. After installing ALL XP upgrades I cannot use my Visioneer 7100 scanner. I get the problems stated in KB Article 819017 and 821690. I have installed the updated drivers without any improvement. Knowing the dirvers worked well once upon a time in my system and still work in 2 friends computers; I put in a clean Maxtor drive and did a new installation. I have downloaded all XP critical and many recommended updates with no error messages during start-up; I can scan with the original Visioneer 7100 scanner drivers with no problems. Sure looks like a Microsoft XP update problem to me! I have already tired a reinstall over the old XP installation with the help of the Windows XP CD, but saw no improvements. Now I want to go back to my old drive, write zero and do a fresh install on the old Western Digital drive. Should I try to use the old wpa.dbl and .bak or just re-activate on-line?????
