Cache (by =?Utf-8?B?TWlsayBkb2VzIGEgYm9keSBnb29k?= on 4 Jun 2004, 1 reply)
I'm trying to clean my computer hard drive a litte bit. When I surf the internet, web sites leave files on my computer. I've got a cleaner that works pretty good but it misses folders in the "Web browser cache" It cleans the contents of the folders but leaves the empty folders. I'd like to delete these folders manually but can't find them. Also there's a folder called "Temporary Internet Folder" and it's got files in it that the cleaner missed. I know at least some of these's are not system or critical files because they're from websites I've visited. Some of the folder names are "Bargan Buddy" and "Fun web products."

I'd like to know more about what happens when I visit a web site. I know web sites leave cookies but apparently they leave more than that. I'd like to know where these files are left, what a web browser cache and temporary internet files are and how to manually clean my computer after visiting web sites. ... (more)

Hi.
First of all, I don't know even know who to contact about this, so I might be in a completely wrong forum, but I'm hoping somebody could point me to the right direction.
So. I have Outlook Express 6 that comes with XP. I have an ADSL connection which I setup a couple of days ago, when I got a new laptop. I have two mailboxes that I access through Outlook, from two different operators. In the beginning everything worked fine. Then yesterday, all of a sudden, I can't get a connection to either of the mailboxes. It times out, I get an TCP/IP error message. I haven't done any modifications or installations that I know of that would had an effect on this. And my connection is otherwise working fine. So what should I do? ... (more)
cursors (by =?Utf-8?B?RE1HOQ==?= on 4 Jun 2004, 1 reply)
A lot of my cursor files are missing because the c:\windows\cursors folder is empty. I went to c:\windows\i386 to look for the files, and I found files with the same name and a very close extension... the extensions are .cu_ and .an_. I copied those files and then changed the extensions, however, windows refuses to reconize those files. I hovered my mouse over the files and it said they were either cursor or animated cursor files. I went to the control panel and chose mouse, then pointers, and I still get the same message saying some of the cursors are missing.
How can I fix this problem? (If it helps, I use a windows xp, and the windows xp cd never came with my computer - I was told to make some system recovery cds instead.)

~Thanks in advance. ... (more)

Sean, I am having the same issue. It appears to happen when using "Folders" view and mainly when moving or pasting a file.
