how to id programme for missing dll |
| message from Philip Wagstaff on 7 Jun 2004 |
I recently deleted some adware and it's thrown up an error message I cannot
get rid of, even after reinstalling the adware! The message is called
RUNDLL; c/windows/dowloaded Programme File/bridge.dll
I do not want to take XP back to an earlier setting because I've made
changes and installed programmes I want to keep. Can anyone identify this
bridge.dll, where can I find it to reinstall?

Hi,
This is malware.
Download a copy of Hijack this:
http://computercops.biz/zx/phoenix22/hijackthis.zip
http://www.computercops.biz/downloads-cat-14.html
Run it and delete any entries similar to these. (Note: DO NOT remove
any other entries, as most of them are from good programs)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {9C691A33-7DDA-4C2F-BE4C-C176083F35CF} -
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\BRIDGE.DLL
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [RunDLL] rundll32.exe
"C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\BRIDGE.DLL",Load
Reboot.
Good luck
