changing file extension

Please help me hours of work lost!
PC crashes whilst doing an Autocag LT drawing but luckily file autosaved with .sv$ extension.
Need to change extension to .dwg but can't find how! Was easy in Windows 98 as the extension was shown in file name.
Desperate!

Hi

Open Windows Explorer, then go to Tools>Folder Options>View and uncheck
'Hide extensions for known file types'. Then try renaming the file.
