cannot copy files created on a Windows 98 machine into Windows XP home PC |

A friend burned a CD for me on his Windows 98 machine. The CD has 45
folders in it containing hundreds of spreadsheets in each.
When I tried to copy these into my new XP (home) machine it chokes on
many of these files saying that the file doesnt exist. it wont even
open one or two folders. but on my old windows 98 laptop everything
comes through fine.
i have tried this on more than one XP machine including one not at
home & the problem is consistent.
Any ideas? is there a patch i can install to fix the problem?

Are you using the same software in 98 and XP for composing and reading the
spreadsheets ? Jym
