can't back up files

message from =?Utf-8?B?anVkaQ==?= on 30 May 2004
I cannot use system backup... I try to save all my files to a dvd and it says it is an invalid path and the computer hangs up. It will work with a floppy but it would take a thousand floppy disks to save all my files. The reason I want to copy all my files is that I want to partition my hard drive again. I will lose all my files if I do this, am I correct?

Hi Judi,

If you use a program like PartitionMagic you shouldn't lose any of your data. Having backups is a smart thing to do anyway. I
back up all my data once a week, and backup mission critical data to a thumb drive as I am working on it.
