Your notebook was removed from what or where? And what is it going to be put
back into?

This migh tnot be the best solution but it should work.

If you used a Upgrade CD then just insert the CD and
click on Upgrade. This will reinstall Windows XP over the
top and should install Notepad back on.

back in without a total reload of xp home?

Are you asking about "Notepad"? If that's the case, it may not have been
removed, just the shortcut to it. Try this, from start, click run. Type
notepad.exe if it opens notepad, it is obviously still installed. If it is,
you can create a shortcut to it by r-clicking the desktop and choosing "new"
shortcut. Type notepad.exe click next and rename it if you wish. That will
place an icon on your desktop. You can move it anywhere you want. You can do
the same thing from within any folder you wish.

LOL, JAX
