XP pro Multiple copies of find/search

After using XP pro's find/search function yesterday,it will now pop open multiple copies of the search window whenever I try to open the Start function or Windows Explorer or any program period. It will continue to open multiple copies 30, 40 or more until memory is exhausted.?????
