Windows crashed

message from =?Utf-8?B?VGVlZGVl?= on 1 Jun 2004
My Windows XP Prof program (on a new Toshiba laptop) won't boot up and Toshiba tells me there's NO WINDOWS RECOVERY disk with the ($2000) computer -- I'll need to install the Toshiba dvd which will override everything and wipe out all my data -- can this possibly be? They said with a "retail" version of Windows XP I could get windows working again -- I see nothing on the MS web site about that, nor the cost ... Unbelievable!

Hi,

With a retail version, you can perform a repair install, which should
keep your data.

You can go to your favorite computer store and buy it.

Good luck
