Windows XP Home updates

message from =?Utf-8?B?ZXJtZA==?= on 3 Jun 2004
After using the windows updates, I have often been crashing at startup and then having to reboot in safe mode. Is this a common problem that others have had. It had been a long time since a reboot. Would the best idea be to just wipe everything clean and re-install the xp? I don't want to lose other info such as my microsoft money etc.

Thanks

Hi,

If you can identify which update it was, you could uninstall it in
Control Panel > Add/Remove, or perform a System restore to a date when
all was well.

Or you could go to the Windows\$NTUninstallKBxxxxxx$\spuninst and
click on spuninst.exe to uninstalll the hotfix, where xxxxxx is the
number of the update.

Good luck
