Volume control won't stay in system tray |
| message from RPA on 12 Jun 2004 |
Hello,
Recently the volume control icon disappears from the system tray after a
system restart. Any suggestions on how to fix this. I've only noticed this
since applying the latest MS security patch.
I'm using XP Home Edition, SP1
Thank you in advance for any help.

Open the Control Panel, Sounds & Audio Devices, make certain the "Place volume icon
in the taskbar" is ticked.

Yes, I've tried that each time with the same results.

To use the Regedit: Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it and
answer yes to the import prompt. REG files can be viewed in Notepad by right
clicking on the file and selecting Edit.
