USB Electronic Hard Disk

message from Matt on 3 Jun 2004
I have an Easy Disk USB portable storage stick which is supposed to be plug
and play. It plugs straight into my laptop and is recognised allowing me to
save work etc. However, it does not get recognised on my home PC which is
Windows XP pro. I keep on getting the message, "The drivers for this device
are not installed (Code 28)" and prompts to insert software. This I do but
the disc is only for use with Windows 98 software. Please help!!!

hi,

i've got a similar problem with one of our user's who has a kingston 512mb usb stick, what we've figured out is that windows xp driver.cab maybe corrupted, you may need to delete it, then copy the one back in from your installation cd, remove device from device manager refresh it and it should then hopefully install.

no one does usb drivers for windows 2k and above as they have native support, it's just a mare when it goes wrong!

Hi Matt,

Go to Easy Disk's web-site and see if they offer XP compatible drivers for
your device.

LOL, JAX
