Task scheduler error 0x8007007a

message from Phil on 1 Jun 2004
I'm having a problem with a client's PC. No tasks scheduled will start.
Any attempts to start, either timed or manually, result in " 0x8007007a: The
data area passed to a system call is too small."

A KB search returns Q264522, which I have tried with no success, and
Q246865, which mentions installing IE 5.01. However, XP has IE6 installed,
and I've even reinstalled 6 in an attempt to correct this.

Another article, Q294272, mentions problems when the administrator account
belongs to many groups, but this also does not apply, since no changes have
been made to the group memberships since the original installation.

The account does have a password.

What else could be causing this behavior?

Hi,

If it's this KB article which is your problem, I've got access to microsoft's premier service and I can download the hotfix for you.

Could you set yourself up with an email address so that I can email it you.

Thanks

Lavan
