| message from =?Utf-8?B?cGMxMjI2?= on 1 Jun 2004 |
the time on my windows toolbar keeps changing on its own. This problem occured ever since I upgraded from Home Edition to Professional. Sometimes when I change the time, it always changes back to some WEIRD YEAR. I MEAN REALLY WEIRD. I MEAN 1931 OR 2021! Please Help if you know the solution to this annoying problem!

Hi,
Could be a problem with your bios as xp get's it's time from the internal clock.
go into your bios and set it to the correct time, when your in windows see if it is changing it.
if it is then there is a way to get net time to look for an external source, ie 195.5.41.209 (ntp2.usno.navy.mil) or 192.5.41.41(tock.usno.navy.mil).
here's the command to do it
net time \\timesrv /set /yes (timesrv being the name of the time server)
mainly used in a domain environment but it might work if it's stand alone and your on the internet.
Thanks
Lavan
