Strange problem with left Shift key |
| message from Steven on 6 Jun 2004 |
For some reason (and it doesn't happen all the time), when I boot up (I
*think* it's only when I've hibernated the PC) the left Shift key seems
to think it's pressed down when it's not. What I mean is that if I
select an icon on the desktop or file in Explorer, it can select more
than one at once. I can stop this happening by pressing the left Shift
key down once, then it's fine until the next time I boot up.
I thought it was a faulty keyboard so I bought a new one but it still
does it.
Any ideas please? It's pretty annoying!
{Windows XP Home SP1a, 512Mb RAM}

Thanks, I saw that article but the version of the file on my hard drive
is newer than that mentioned, plus I've used up both my free-of-charge
incidents so I'm not sure whether I could get the fix off Microsoft
anyway :-/
