System restore problems |
| message from =?Utf-8?B?TWVs?= on 11 Jun 2004 |
I just system restored my computer (Windows XP) to a system restore point due to a couple of viruses having messed with my system. This didn't solve my problem so I wanted to undo the restoration, but it won't let me. I also tried restoring to the most recent resore point but that failed too. Why is this happening and is there anything I can do about it? I think it may be to do with system restore having changed some file names in the system32 folder??

Hi,
Yes, it will. But if the restore points are corrupted they won't
work.
Try to restore to different dates.
I once had this problem, and had to turn off and on system restore :-(
I had to find another way to correct the problem.

He told you that - didn't you read "which flushes them"?! The virus(es) are
probably embedded within a restore point, so why would you want to keep them
anyway?! And corrupt points are of use nor ornament to anyone. The fact is
that you /can't/ restore anyway so purging is the only way to go.
