Span in windows help and support center |
| message from =?Utf-8?B?Y2Nja2VlcGVy?= on 5 Jun 2004 |
Everytime I connect to the web windows help and support center pops up asking me to upgrade my dvd decoder, by purchasing their software. Is windows help and support center now being used as a spamming tool?
How can I stop this? I have run ad-aware and spybot to no effect.

Are you sure it is Microsoft that is wanting to update the recorder? Have you clicked
the upgrade site? Your computer may have come bundled with various products one of
which would be your DVD software, no doubt it is this product that is wanting you to
spend your money. In all my years I have never had Microsoft asking me to purchase a
product unless I was using a Microsoft evaluation program.
