Start Task Manager on Power Up

message from pegndob on 30 May 2004
Is there a way I can automatically start Task Manager on power up - i.e.;
put something in the startup file or some other way?

Thanks

Bob

Right-click on the desktop and create a shortcut, in the target put
%SystemRoot%\System32\taskmgr.exe

Next open Windows Explorer, browse to the desktop, and drag the
shortcut you just created to the folder: Documents and
Settings\Username\Start up Menu\Programs\Start

Good luck

Roger,

Thanks. That's two I owe you. Your suggestion worked fine except that the
"New Shortcut" target in WinXP Home wouldn't let me type a backslash "\" in
the filename. I managed to navigate to the TM.exe, create a shortcut there,
then move the shortcut to startup file.

Thanks again,

Bob
