System Restore Checkpoint help needed

message from Bill Fitzgerald on 01 Jun 2004
Something(?) happened on my computer and I have to go back to last Thursdays
checkpoint to get the internet working again. Hardware is ok. Can I save
the "system setings" once I get last Thurs. back, so tomorrow when I start
the computer the internet works? How do I do that. Also, is it possible to
find out why the network connection doesn't work in the first place.

Thanks

Bill

What type of internet connection do you have? Is it dial-up, broadband, or on a network or workgroup (shared)? If it is through a network, have you checked your IP address? A few more specifics and maybe we can narrow down the problem.

I have Comcast Cable network. I've discussed the problem with their tech
support and the tech can access the nic card on my computer from his remote
location. Looks like something happened software related on my computer,
and by doing the system restore to a previous day, everything is working
fine.
