Since I upgraded to XP pro, My outlook address book won't work?

I can't get my outlook address book to work it says that it's is configured wrong and reinstalling it might help. I tried to remove outlook from windows xp. and then reboot, and add windows outlook back in. But it still has the same errors. To me I can't use outlook as my main email if I can't store addresses. Help I need my email? Is this a common problem with xp?
