"SERIOUS ERROR RECOVERY" |
| message from =?Utf-8?B?TW9sbHlzcGF1c2U=?= on 1 Jun 2004 |
Hellllllllllllllp. I continually get a "system has recovered from a serious error" message right after I crash of course. I send the error report to Microsoft and the results is a message that says the problem is my Synaptics touchpad does not have a current driver. Microsoft gives me a link to Synaptics, which in turn tells me to get my driver from Gateway. Gateway has me do a troubleshoot using Synaptics' system built into my computer, and of course, it asks me if I want a Synaptics update. When I click for the update, I am told that there is no better driver than the one I have. And so, I am in this endless loop of system recovery, microsoft claiming it's Synaptics, and Synaptics saying my driver is already current. Any ideas? Please email me and know that I am not a hardware specialist:) I have about had it with windows XP and wish to God I could go back to Windows 98.

Have you tried reinstalling the current driver/software package for the
touchpad?
