Slow shutdown

message from Lynn W on 1 Jun 2004
Over the weekend I installed a new printer (now have 2 printers installed)
and also the Palm Desktop for the Zire 21 which I bought. I now find that
the laptop takes longer to close down than it did before. It doesn't take
longer to start up though. Anyone know why this is and if it's something I
can alter.

Hi,

The more programs you have active, the more time it will take to shut
down, especially since a lot of programs place themselves in the
startup axis.
You can go to Start > Run > msconfig
startup tab
and uncheck items you don't want to automatically load, you might
check first in the programs themselves for settings to keep them from
starting automatically.

If there are items you don't know about, you can search them in these
sites:

Good luck

Always keep antivirus and spy removal applications (links on the bottom of the page) up-to-date, and scan regularly.
