You can buy several 'packaged' Anti-Virus Software products: more respected is that from McAfee and Norton.
A free product is AVG Free Edition

It may not be as pretty or easy to use as the others.
Intsall the software, from the CD or internet download file: however during the installation process you may have the option to do a full system scan prior to starting the actual installation of files etc on your PC.
Some Virus may cause problems if you attempty to install any software, thus it is recommended to scan before you install.
