Hi Don,
Can you boot in safe mode? Try pressing the F8 key repeatedly while
booting and choosing safe mode with the arrow keys. Then perform a
System Restore to a date before the problem started.

Thanks guys, I tried the system restore but it did not work.
Can I still fix media player in safe mode by accessing the internet?

Hi Don,
You can try reinstalling the Media player.
You might try going to start > run and copying and pasting to the run
window the following line:
"%ProgramFiles%\Windows Media Player\setup_wm.exe"
This will reinstall the player.
