Try this... Go to Run and type, sfc /scannow (note space between c and /).
Insert XP cd when prompted. This will reinstall or repair system files. Jym

installation. I have upgraded the hardware on my machine. Installed my XP
Pro and finally gotten through all of the updates. But now whenever I try to
install any programs I get the error 1355 telling me that my cab1 is
corrupt. This has happen and a couple of different programs one being Office
2000 Professional. Also I find that any other program I try to install it
tells me that the file is corrupt.
running this program have a chance of correcting my problem?
