I can't get the taskbarplus exe to run - I get an error that says "ActiveX component can't create object." What do I have to do to get it to run?

Simon,
It just runs fine in XP (all runtimes are present in XP). Type REGSVR32 =
SCRRUN.DLL in the RUN box and launch this utility.
BTW, I'm unable to see the actual question.
