Hi Bruce,
Having many drives and partitions myself, I hear what you are saying.
"Over" saving can be a very complicated issue as I have run across this many
times. In these cases, 'most' directories/files have the same name, if so,
trust your filing system. That said:
Buy an external hard drive (but not necessary - and shift it there) and
store all of your saved data. Install XP clean and move over your saved
data over to where it belongs. In time, all will fall into place.
Note: From here on, only keep your operating system on C: and the rest on
share partitions.
