This is *YOUR* fault. Why did you tell your son the main admin password?!
More pertinently, why were you using the main admin user for day to day
use?!

As it is the main admin account, the only option is to format and start
over. I'm afraid Michael Stevens's advice only applies to a lost user level
password (as you have to be able to access the main admin account in order
to change it).

*NEVER* use the main administrator user for day to day use. When you have
reinstalled, create two new accounts - and I suggest you make them *both*
limited. And don't tell your son the password for yours or the main admin.
