You should be able to do a repair install with your new XP retail cd. This
will retain your files , folder and settings and install your new key
number. Jym

it. I'd like to buy full, retail version of the software, so it will be
properly licensed and I'll be able to get Service Packs, patches, etc. Must
I reformat the hard drive and completely start over or can I load the new XP
over the old somehow? Thanks!
