Programs missing

I have some programs missing on my computer and when I go to click on Internet Explorer or any file such as My Documents, My Music, Etc...it takes a minimum of 3 mintues to load. My computer has never been this slow. I'm not sure if I should just reload windows or if there is an easier way to fix it

What programs are missing? Programs don't just go missing on their own,
they need help to wind up lost and forgotten. Run an anti-virus scan and
use applications like Ad-aware, Pest Patrol and Spybot Search and Destroy to
help keep your machine clean and tidy. Do some housecleaning on your system
by dumping the temporary internet files and clearing out cookies. Run the
disk defragmenter to help straighten out your hard drive. Make sure to
disable screen savers and any other applications that might start to run
during the time you are defragging the hard drive. Post back with your
adventures. Good luck.
