Need help from a MVP or Advanced user

Hi there all,

My problem is with IntelliType 5.0

For some reason, hotkeys assigned to .lnk files that link to .exe programs,
will no longer work. This literally happened after DirectX 9.0B
installation, and I can't see why.

The hotkeys still 'work', I can assign a .url file to them, but any .lnk
files that link to .exe programs will not work, as in when I press the
associated hotkey, nothing happens, yet Mskey still shows that the buttons
are functioning.

I have tried clean uninstalling both IntelliType and IntelliPoint 5.0
(uninstalling, deleting all files and registry entrys) and still the problem
occurs. I have also tried the CD version fo 5.0 (that depends on Terminal
Services to be running) and the current web version of 5.0 (which doesn't
require Terminal Services), and yet still the program links won't work.

This is really annoying me as I have a WMP9 shortcut that has specific
commands and a rasphone connection shortcut, both which will no longer work.

Could it be a conflict or poor registry entry causing the problem, I am
asking this because I really feel this is an advanced problem (not a case of
'checking to see if the target files are still present etc, as anything
along those lines is present and correct).

I do hope someone can help me on this one, I had this problem before, but
solved it by clean reinstalling IntelliType 5.0, sadly this won't work this
time round.
