Network Icon on Taskbar

message from Nik on 6 Jun 2004
I have a 10/100/1000 Ethernet card installed on my XP machine, which I don't
use. I have the Network Icon with a red cross through it cluttering up my
Taskbar. Can I /Should I /how can I remove it?

Thanks in advance,

Nik

go to the device manager and disable your network card.
If you need it in the future, re enable it.

Thanks. Still leaves an annoying red "!" though!

and scroll down to line 53, right column, 'Hide or show inactive icons
- notification area'

Hope this helps
