My DSL icon takes 2/3 mintues to open |

I'm using Windows XP-Pro with Service pack1. After restarting my computer, I can open any of the icons on my desktop rightaway except my DSL icon. Even my Norton Anti virus-2004 icon in my system tray is disabled for 2/3 minutes.
What might be the problem? Can anyone please provide a solution.

Always keep antivirus and spy removal applications (links on the bottom of the page) up-to-date, and scan regularly.

Check and see if the ready green light on the dsl modem are lit and not
blinking. Depending on the setup , your Norton is probably still loading ,
this is common. Jym
